Coastal Forage Workshop - Cliffs and Sea
Come see the sunrise or set and take a guided crash course in Coastal Foraging.
What happens
Discover how to identify and forage Sea Weed sustainably and safely. We will introduce you to a handful of local plants. Next we will take to the Clifftops for a Sea Vegetable and Sea Herb forage. You will see how to identify some of the best Wild Herbs and Vegetables around. Expect hand outs, a world of learning and to get wet! Please note we will not be harvesting any Seaweed or Plant material in the SSSI area. This educational walk will focus on identifying species, coastal ecology and practising responsible foraging ethics. The coastline we’ll be exploring sits within a this coastal habitat. We’ll still be getting hands-on with seaweeds and shoreline plants, learning how to identify edible species safely and responsibly, discussing uses, seasons, and harvesting ethics, and there may be opportunities for very minimal personal collection where appropriate and environmentally sensitive. Dates available Aug 9th Sept 5th Oct 31st Nov 21st Dec 5th
